Dell E228FP

Wow, my first 22" LCD screen!  This thing is huge!  I am currently using it as an external monitor to my Dell M1330., and I have to say, it does help with productivity.  I have it running at its native resolution of 1680×1050, nothing less.  Naturally, I’ve "split" the screen into two, each half containing an instance of Firefox, my browser of choice.

The larger screen size also helps with some of my web development work.  I always have multiple instances of PuTTY opened (or other terminal emulators at times).  I have two on my main laptop screen, and a skinnier and tall one on my external screen.  I usually use the long skinny terminal to compile, test run applications and such.  Beside the skinny terminal, I would have my Firefox running for research and such work.  I find this layout to help tremendously in getting things done as I have quick access to most of the screens I want.

The backlight for this LCD is bright!  It hurt my eyes looking at it, so I had to dim it slightly.  This will be good for those bright days where it’s hard to read what’s on the screen.  Of course, I have not watched any movies on this screen yet, and I can’t wait to do that sometime this weekend.
