Replacing my aluminum wiring for my range/oven

As I have mentioned last time about the wiring in this mobile home, it’s all completely aluminum.  This is not a good thing for me, but since I already own the place I will have to live with it.  The recent phenomena of my range/oven not working is due to some corosion in the aluminum wiring to the house.  I have decided to abandon the existing wiring and run one below the mobile home.  I came to this decision because of a variety of reason, but of course, the biggest reason is that it is the simplest way.

I went to Champion Electric and got myself 80ft’s worth of PVC conduit and 80ft’s worth of copper wiring. Since my line is 40 AMPS and my new range/oven is also rated at 40 AMPS, 8/3 copper wire would be sufficient.  The reason for the PVC conduit is because I will have all of this stuff hanging outside of the house.  I have to make it so that it’s up to code.  All of these parts end up being about $175, which is pretty expensive.  Then again, my electrical panel is on one end of the house while my range is on the other.

It seems like I’m going through a lot more trouble for this electrical problem, and I’m always thinking if it is better to actually go to a real electrician.  I’m always so worried about the price that those guys charge, like $50 for the first half hour, then $25 for every half hour after that (I may be exaggerating :) ).  I cannot afford something like that, especially if it will take them forever to find the corosion and/or replacing it with a brand new wiring like I am.  Regardless of whatever route they take, it will take them a few hours and costing me at least $500.
