I have had the M1330 for a few months now and I must say, it is quite a fast computer! I cannot ask for anymore in terms of speed, however, there are a few things about this laptop that bothers me. You can see more of my laptop here. Of course, you can ignore me as I am very picky with my laptops :).

I have yet to post much this Summer at all, this update is so that people know I am still alive and kicking. Since my last post on War2Observe, a lot has changed with the program. I have added an APM counter for the game, and it is displayed at the bottom right of the screen. However, I have not updated the War2Observe webpage for this, which I should.

War2Observe
Introduction:
This program is meant to be a cheap immitation of the Warcraft 3’s feature for observers. It allows you, when as a watcher of the game, to see what the players are doing as well as seeing their resource statistics as your own. This is not a hack, and should not complement hacks of any kinds. Once again, credit goes out to LoThaR. for MUCH of his time and devotion in stomping out bugs.
Direction:
1) Unzip the War2Observe.exe file into your favorite directory or folder.
2) Double click to run
That is it. This program will work regardless when you run the program in relation to War2. For those who wants clarification, you can start this before war2, after war2. If for some reason you can start both processes at the same time, go for it, if it crashes…tough. If you start this during a game, it will not do anything until your next game. This means, you cannot run this and start observing in the middle of the game. This restriction is here so that if a player died and only has a farm left, he cannot pop out and run this to help his ally.

Let me make it clear that War2Observe is NOT a malicious hack. It is not intended to give any player an unfair advantage over another. It simply gives Warcraft 2 a new sense of wonder. Here’s a grocery list of what it is, and what it is not:
IS:
- An improvement to a very old game
- As LoThaR. puts it, "real time insight"
- My attempt to showoff the raw power and sexiness of my brain…..
- To give back to the community I love so much
IS NOT:
- A malicious hack designed to give unfair advantage
- A maphack
- A trojan (as The_G0D thought it was)

Q: Why do I get the error "The application has failed to start because…"?
A: In an attempt to show my leetness coding skills, I have chosen to use Visual Studio 2008 as my IDE. This was a poor choice as it results in an executable file that does not work on most machines. To get it working, you need to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package. If you are running x64 operating systems, there’s a link at the bottom of that page redirecting you to the proper download.
Q: I have Windows 98/ME, can you help me run version 2 of this program?
A: I have used a few memory functions that are available only to Windows 2000 and above. However, you are in luck because there exists an open source project called KernelEx which adds NT functions to the Windows 98/ME. Although this is a workaround, I cannot guarantee that it will work for you or it will be stable for you.
Q: How does this thing work?
A: It just makes War2 thinks you’re all the player. Read more . . .

I’ve been pretty busy with school, this is finals week for me and a few projects are due at the end of the week. However, I have been pretty lazy with getting school work done, and I am slightly behind. On the other hand though, I have finished scripting a simple replay hosting script for Warcraft 2. You can start browsing the replays here.
There are a few things I would like to be able to do with this script, but it won’t be anytime soon. First off, if it is a dk2 (warvid) video, it would be cool if users can stream the video right off of the website as opposed to downloading and loading warvid. However, this will take a lot of work for video formatting and conversions. The other problem would be bandwidth. I have enough bandwidth for a few videos here and there, but if a lot of people are viewing, the server may not have enough.

I have been very busy indeed! Other than school and all the other things I am currently trying to do, I have a broken electrical line that I need to be fixing. I finally got my chance this weekend since all the snow has melted, and it was rather sunny. This is just to continue my previous posts about my range/oven problem here, here, here and here. First off, the disclaimer! I am not responsible for any of your actions resulting from reading this web page. What you do is your responsibility. Leave this to professionals, or really cheap people only! You have been warned.
This project took me two whole days! At first, I thought it was going to take around 3 - 5 hours, boy was I wrong. Running those wires in the conduit took especially long since I have to be underneath my mobile home crawling and sniffing on spider poo. I did not take all the pictures, but these are the items that I found useful for this project:
- Wires
- 3/4" conduit (couplings, elbows?, glue and the works)
- Wire cutter
- Exacto knife
- Hacksaw
- Electrical tape
- Screw driver
- Brain
- Old clothes that you’re not afraid of getting ruined
- Drill
- Flashlight

As I have mentioned last time about the wiring in this mobile home, it’s all completely aluminum. This is not a good thing for me, but since I already own the place I will have to live with it. The recent phenomena of my range/oven not working is due to some corosion in the aluminum wiring to the house. I have decided to abandon the existing wiring and run one below the mobile home. I came to this decision because of a variety of reason, but of course, the biggest reason is that it is the simplest way.

If you have not read or hear about it all over the news, North Korea has launched a few missles today. The South Koreans are trying to shake it off and say that it’s just normal military drill for the North, but I don’t think that’s the case. I believe that the South Korean are keeping a close eye on those crazy communists up there. Some sources say that because America is concentrating too much on its elections that the ongoing nuclear talks will not achieve much in the near future.
