Q: Why do I get the error "The application has failed to start because…"?
A: In an attempt to show my leetness coding skills, I have chosen to use Visual Studio 2008 as my IDE. This was a poor choice as it results in an executable file that does not work on most machines. To get it working, you need to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package. If you are running x64 operating systems, there’s a link at the bottom of that page redirecting you to the proper download.
Q: I have Windows 98/ME, can you help me run version 2 of this program?
A: I have used a few memory functions that are available only to Windows 2000 and above. However, you are in luck because there exists an open source project called KernelEx which adds NT functions to the Windows 98/ME. Although this is a workaround, I cannot guarantee that it will work for you or it will be stable for you.
Q: How does this thing work?
A: It just makes War2 thinks you’re all the player.
Q: How do I get this to work?
A: I wrote this for the US version of Warcraft 2. I cannot guarantee that it’ll work for other versions of War2. All you need to do is double click and the program should run in one big black ugly console box. That is it, you do not need to do anything else. It should automatically detect your instance of Warcraft 2 and does its magic.
Q: AHHH!! It does not work! Why?
A: Is the program running? If it is, did you start it in the middle of a game? If you did, it will not work for that game, this is a preventative measure against cheating by a nearly dead player. Remember, after game starts, it takes 2 minutes to give vision. This is to prevent neighbor wars from seeing each other’s techs. This time may be decreased in future versions of the program.
Q: How can I be as leet as you A.K./xslider/ShowdoG[eG]?
A: You can’t. It’s not that you can’t reach up to my level, it’s more like you can’t ever go down this low. I am at the bottom of the totem pole, looking up to the giants and gods of programming (and war2). At least you can say, "I didn’t spend that much time to write a game hack." Be proud of that

Yo Showdog, if you still look at this page can you hit me up on AIM or e-mail me? I wanted to ask if you had time to try to fix the crashes for war2obs that occur with Vista or at least explain why they occur. I’d be willing to assist.

Yea, I am still alive and kicking. I forgot which one of the person on my contact list is you.
I did try to take a look at the crashing issue, but I don’t remember ever getting down to what the issue was. Maybe we can take a look at it when we both have the time. Hit my up on AIM.
invalact is my account.
