The computer science major as part of the Washington State University’s EECS department has been declining in the past few years (but it is improving rapidly this year).  This was due to a combination of lack of a proper director, hard teachers, and the domination of the IEEE club in the department.  The IEEE group, although supposed to also represent the computer science students also, has been focusing on the engineering students, mainly the EE people.  Thus for quite a number of years now, the computer science students have lacked leaders as well as weak bonds among the students.  This year, we are to make a difference.
